Aphrodite Destination Weddings

I’m Rachel Smith, the chief cook and bottle washer behind Aphrodite Destination Weddings. I call Central Ohio home, but my clients live all over the United States. I work with my clients remotely via email, phone, and by personal appointment.

My own wedding was in 2006. Just 6 weeks after my mother passed away from heart complications after 4 months of being in the hospital. We never know what life will throw at us, so I choose to always look for the good in life. Weddings are the goodest good.

My love of travel started at a young age. My mother used a guidebook that had index cards on a metal ring to plan that vacation to Walt Disney World. Travel was a very big part of my childhood, be it a big Disney trip or a quick overnight to a nearby city. I’ve traveled to 13 countries and look forward to that number going up. There’s something to learn from everyone you meet — and if those people don’t look like you, live like you, or believe like you, the experience is even more rewarding.

I live in Central Ohio with my husband and 2 daughters, 10 and 12. My free time is spent shuttling the girls to school, sports, music, 4-H, and horse activities. I’m also a volunteer at the school and am somehow still our area treasurer for Girl Scouts, even though my girls haven’t been in scouts for a few years now. I love planning travel and I treat every client’s trip as if it were my own. All of the moving pieces are a fun challenge to piece together.
